Harry caught the polo crowd by surprise when he arrived not in a 4×4 vehicle with tinted windows, but rather commanding the reigns of a horse drawn carriage, and sitting next to Alvaro Coelho da Fonseca, the owner of the hotel and estate where the Sentebale Polo Cup was being played: “The royal appeared to be following in the footsteps of his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh,” observed the Associated Press, “who used to drive carriages competitively but now only does so for recreation.”
