A handsome young bay gelding with an outstanding personality, he is calm and has good rideability, he has the three correct gaits and is very confident, already working on open arenas and on trail rides around the farm. Queequeg is a great option for amateurs.

His dam is Fenícia Interagro, a black mare who has been producing Lusitanos of great temperament and functionality. Her first daughter Madame Interagro, sold as a filly at the 16th Interagro Yearlings Auction in 2016 is nowadays ridden by an amateur teenager. Fenícia is out of Abdera Interagro, a top producing mare with four daughters in Interagro’s breeding program: Fenícia, Gazuza InteragroInércia Interagro – revised with 79.50 points – and Joeira Interagro. Among their male sons, Esparteiro Interagro and Matutino Interagro stand out, both sold to the USA and Lusitano Interagro, the most valued foal at the 15th Interagro Yearlings Auction in 2015. Fenícia´s sire is Zíngaro Interagro, a black stallion of incredible rideability and temperament, and one of Interagro’s most influential stallions. Zingaro’s proven ability to stamp progeny with his phenomenal mind and athleticism is why he has become such a prolific sire. Zíngaro’s excellent pedigree combines the most influential names in Interagro’s breeding program, making him a universal stud that will always possess the genetic counterpart to all mares he has been paired with at Interagro.

Sire by Bungo Interagro, a stallion by Ofensor (MV) and out of Sibila Interagro (Noblíssimo Interagro x Maçaroca MMT), Plácida hails from an interesting blending of Portuguese lineages. Maçaroca (MMT), bred by renowned Portuguese Stud Farm Romão Tavares, is a daughter of Hectar (MMT) and Filigrana (MMT), and is descended from Fronteiro I, an ancestor of Danúbio (MV), therefore from Firme (SA) /Nilo (MV)/Novilheiro (MV) lineage. This unique pairing through Bungo Interagro produces a desired genetic combination of great potential.

Queequeg is named after the harpooner in Herman Melville’s novel “Moby Dick”, where he works as Starbuck’s harpooner and comes from the royal family of a South Sea island nation that fled from your home in search of adventure. Like the original, the Lusitano Queequeg is affable, generous and courageous.
