Bred by Manuel Coimbra (MAC), the offspring of this brilliant and elegant buckskin stallion retain his exceptional quality, living up to his reputation as a stud and validating Interagro’s impetus to acquire him.
Nicola MAC’s sire, Hábil (MV), is a Veiga stallion from the Firme/Nilo/Novilheiro lineage; he has produced some exceptional sons at the Coimbra’s, including Perdigueiro (MAC), now serving at Interagro. Nicola’s mother, Heroína (MAC), is a daughter of Distinto (MAC), a grand champion mare in Lisbon. Both Distinto (MAC) and Hábil (MV) were exported to Brazil. Nicola MAC ‘stamps his signature’ on all of his male and female offspring, consistently siring robust, morphologically correct, beautiful, and forward-thinking horses.
Dozens of mares by Nicola (MAC) are incorporated in Interagro’s brood-mare group, and their stallion roster also includes two of his sons: Tufão Interagro and Zurbaran Interagro. Nicola (MAC)’s progeny currently reside in many countries, including Sweden, Paraguay, and Canada. Temporal Interagro was trained in Portugal and sold to Spain before returning Portugal in a resale. Two Nicola (MAC) Lusitanos were sold to Australia: Uluti and Ventania, and a large number to the US, including Udine Interagro, who was sold at 2004 Interagro National Auction and months later won his class in morphology (1st place, Gold Medal, five-year-old class) and also placed second in dressage (Elementary Class) at the Brazilian nationals in 2005 before being exported to the US by his new owners.
Nicola’s offspring are easily distinguished by their straight-forward, docile temperament and incomparable rideability. Several have won important prizes in North American and Brazilian National Shows.
