Produced to Grand Prix
Previously owned by Rafael Chavez Monzon of Haras Dos Cavaleiros, who sold the stallion to the Watts family, Hobbit Interagro has been produced by American based rider Tiago Ernesto. The pair made its international show debut at small tour level in February 2021 in Wellington, Florida and moved up to Medium Tour level in 2022, capturing four second places out of four CDI starts.
Under the watchful eye of Olympian team silver medal winning rider and trainer Adrienne Lyle as well as Jorge Sousa, Tiago and Hobbit made their international Grand Prix debut in February 2023 at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington and have competed in three CDI’s so far with scores increasing show after show.
They have set a personal best of 72.826% at national Grand Prix
APSL and GOV Approved
Hobbit Interagro is not only making his mark in the competition arena but he has also licensed as a breeding stallion.
Hobbit is already an approved and 4 star Recommended Dressage Stallion with APSL, the Portuguese purebred Lusitano studbook. At the moment he is the only APSL Recommended Dressage stallion performing at the International Grand Prix level within the US.
Most recently the German Oldenburg Verband (GOV) visited Hobbit Interagro in Wellington and the inspection panel, headed by NA-representative Jens Richter and Oldenburg breeding director Bernhard Thoben, approved Hobbit for Oldenburg breeding. He is one of very few Lusitano stallions in the world accepted by the Oldenburg breeding society.
“We believe he is a talented, graceful, and elegant stallion and for us he has met a significant milestone,” said Jade Watts Gonzales. “He’s been showing Grand Prix for less than a year, and has only recently been internationally competed. We are so proud that Hobbit has also been licensed with the Oldenburger Verband in Germany as an approved breeding stallion.”
At Stud
Hobbit currently has a very limited breeding record, with 14 registered offspring, but will have frozen semen available to select mares this season.
