Interagro Lusitanos Mark Mid-Year Show Success and Summer Training in the Rockies
Denver, CO (July 25, 2023) – Interagro Lusitanos of Brazil is marking a mid-year success and training camp for three top dressage competitors. Under the guidance of international dressage rider Tiago Ernesto, Hectar Interagro and Platão Interagro, owned by Interagro Lusitanos, and Hobbit Interagro, owned by the Watts family, have racked up progressive wins and milestones since their arrival in the United States. With the addition of three new super stallions from Brazil in 2023, the six Interagro stars are now currently settled into their summer training center in Colorado with Ernesto, who trains with Olympian Adrienne Lyle.
To kick off the 2023 season, Hectar Interagro and Platão Interagro made their US show debuts after just a few months of training. Hectar, a bay gelding by the famous Profano Interagro, demonstrated his ability for the FEI levels, and by the end of the Florida season was successfully schooling through the Grand Prix. Having began his career as a driving horse, Hectar Interagro is the epitome of Interagro’s breeding ideals with an exceptional temperament, international quality gaits, and trainability for the FEI ring. To close out the 2023 Florida season, Hectar and Ernesto scored through the mid-70s in their Small Tour classes at the Global Dressage Festival.
Platão Interagro began his show career in Florida at White Fences and closed out the season at the World Equestrian Center, Ocala, where he finished first and second in his First Level Tests. Platão is a son of Empreiteiro Interagro, a stallion known for his dressage talent and amazing temperament. Empreiteiro Interagro actually joined his son Platão this season in Florida, and began a new adventure as a schoolmaster with his new owner. Platão displays many similar qualities in terms of temperament and trainability; he has scores into the 70s at Training and First Level during his US show debut in Texas in 2022. Platão Interagro is currently offered for sale through Tiago Ernesto at Elite Horse Academy! Click here to watch his winning test at the World Equestrian Center Ocala.
Ernesto also has trained and shown another Interagro horse, Hobbit, since he was a 4-year-old and the pair made their first Grand Prix CDI appearance in 2023, following a successful CDI Small and Medium Tour in 2021 and 2022. Currently owned by the Watts Family, Hobbit was bred by Interagro Lusitanos at their Brazilian training facility and imported to the United States as a young horse. He was approved as a 4-Star Recommended Dressage Stallion with the APSL, the Portuguese purebred Lusitano studbook in 2020. Hobbit Interagro was also approved by the German Oldenburg Verband in April. His newly approved licensing for the Oldenburg Studbook makes him one of only a few Lusitano stallions in the world accepted by the Oldenburg breeding society. The 12-year-old stallion gives major Tolkien vibes with his classic baroque good looks, and with Ernesto in the irons, the pair made their Grand Prix CDI debut at the 2023 Global Dressage Festival and achieved a personal best score of 72.826% at the National Grand Prix level.
